At A Smile for Kids (ASK), our mission is to bring equitable access to orthodontic care for underserved youth in Oregon, nurturing resilience and bright smiles along the way. We are thrilled to share the findings from a recent evaluation of our program, conducted by the Oregon Health Sciences University's team within the Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute.
This comprehensive study offers valuable insights into the impact of our efforts and guides us in fine-tuning our approach to maximize positive health outcomes for the kids we serve.
Key Highlights from the ASK Participant Survey:
High Engagement: A remarkable 100% completion rate of the survey reflects the active involvement of our program participants.
Community Service Impact: A significant 72% of respondents enjoyed volunteering, with 68% engaging in community service post-program.
Satisfaction and Self-Esteem Boost: An overwhelming 91% would recommend ASK, highlighting notable improvements in self-esteem and confidence.
Continuous Improvement: Feedback has been instrumental in enhancing our program, particularly in providing better online guidance and support for community service involvement.
These findings underscore our success in not only improving oral health but also in fostering community connectedness and self-confidence among Oregon's youth. However, our journey doesn't end here. The insights also point towards areas where we can realign our resources and strategies to further enhance the effectiveness of our program.
